When world leaders gathered in Copenhagen in December 2009 to negotiate a global climate treaty, WWF Climate Savers companies were there, urging them to “Let the Clean Economy Begin." Climate Savers is a unique program that unites businesses under a common banner, and features some two dozen leading companies including IBM, Coca-Cola, Sony, Nike, Nokia, and Hewlett-Packard. Citizen has been the agency that branded and brought the program to life, producing a wide range of creative materials aimed at the business community.
Established in 1999, well before global warming became a hot topic, Climate Savers companies began to reduce their own emissions, showing that curbing carbon and spurring economic growth can go hand in hand. With the help of WWF, the world’s leading conservation organization, these companies have collectively decreased their CO2 emissions by 50 million tons over the past decade while creating competitive advantage and shareholder value. The campaign is now actively recruiting new member companies to join its powerful coalition. To learn more, visit letthecleaneconomybegin.com
