Citizen helped its long-time client Natural Resources Defense Council develop what has come to be known as the "Green Sports" movement. The initiative brings NRDC together major professional sports leagues to incorporate sustainable policies and practices into their businesses and operations. Citizen helped NRDC develop the core strategy, creative materials, partnerships and website development to help Major League Baseball, NBA, NHL, US Tennis Association, and the World Soccer Association to engage supply chain partners and fans to recycle, conserve energy, reduce costs, and protect America's wild places. More than 120-template driven "Green Guide" websites have been developed for each of the individual teams. The program is now being extended to influence the adoption of sustainable practices by other entertainment organizations, with Green Guide sites being developed for the Academy Awards and Grammy Awards.
